Where I talk about food more

Alrighty, so I've been thinking about how I've been feeling lately in conjunction with how I've been eating, and it's just no good. I typically am not hungry in the morning, so save for a coffee, I don't eat. Skipping lunch is also typical. I get hungy around 3 or 4, but by then it's so close to dinner, i decide to wait. By dinner time, i am exhausted and tired and cranky, and ravenous to the point of feeling queasy. In addition to snarfing down dinner, I tend to eat a ton of sweets. This sends my blood sugar soaring, and then I get all hyped up after a day of sluggishness. Then I stay up too late, get up too early, and start the cycle all over again.

So I'm experimenting with my diet today. I ate a turkey burger and stir fry for breakfast, went to aerobics, coffee after that, and just had a large (for me) lunch - part of a pork steak I had grilled the other night, a spinach salad with a little oil and vinegar, and some roasted sweet potato and carrots. And a lot of water, of course. It's 2pm, and I feel the best I've felt in awhile. This is usually the beginning of my down time. "Down time" is my euphemism for "being a lazy timewasting asshole". After I ensure that Addie is asleep, I may go do some cleaning and picking up.

I am curious to see how I feel tonight, if I still have the cravings, and what my energy is like for the rest of the day. I'm hoping I can get a small walk/jog in later. Weather permitting. Fucking midwestern weather, so damn unpredictable.

yeah, I learned that about eating breakfast, too, but I hardly ever do it myself. I really just don't like food in the morning, so I've learned to just force down some kind of protein/breakfast bar.

The funny this is, with the blood sugar? I notice it with the kids. Drew doesn't like to eat breakfast either, but I've noticed the days where he gets away with that are the days he's in trouble at school...

When I looked at how I was eating, it seemed so stupid - really. dumbass? Eating better throughout the day will make you feel better? I am a total genius.

I really hate to eat first thing in the morning. There is something so... wrong about it. I have to literally gag food down. But I have to say, I do feel a lot better today. We'll try it again tomorrow and see if it was just a fluke, or if I'm on to something.
