Where I look like I have monkey feet

Check these out! I now own the Ugliest. Shoes. Ever.

Yes, those are little toe pockets. They are the closest thing to walking barefoot, but they protect your foot. They are.... weird. I like them, but I do think I went on too long a walk last night. They will take some getting used to for sure. But I did like the 'connectedness' I felt with the ground. I used to go barefoot from April until October. I'd keep Birks in my car in case I needed to wear shoes, but otherwise, never. I would go shoeless all the time if I could. But, I'm not a 19 year old unshaven hippie girl anymore, so I don't think I can pull that off. I think these are going to be great for KBs, too. I know barefoot is best when training, but you haven't seen my basement. Not wearing shoes is a health hazard.

Anyhoo, I'm off for more coffee and the usual daily crap. Boys are in school, so it's just us girls. Swing day later, anxious to see how I do, I've been a little sore from the 16kg, but I hate to go backwards in weight. I also hate low reps. Hmmmm. Which tradeoff is best?

I wonder if I could use those to do yoga at home without having to have a mat.

The company claims they can be used for yoga and pilates. I'm going to give them a try with yoga at home, the bottom are very grippy, so I would think they'd work fine. Also, toes have free range of motion. I got them at Backwoods at 119th and Quivera, they had a great selection and knowledgeable staff.

I am intrigued!!! did you get the Classic type?

Yep, I tried on the other one, with the mary jane-type strap, but I liked these better. They came in really cool colors, and maybe next time, I'll get something funky, but I didn't feel I could pull it off this go around! I wore them out running errands - and yes, people stared! They are taking some getting used to, and everything I've read says it takes a couple of weeks for your feet to adjust. Cute, they are not. Comfy? Hells yes.

I have the mary jane style in blue. Love em!!

Keep working with the 16 kg. Low reps are fine. You can still use the 12 kg for high reps. Swing the 16 for 10 reps and immediately switch to the 12 for 40 reps or whatever seems to be a good number for you. Your body will adjust to the 16 very quickly.

Have fun!!!

I almost got the blue mary janes! I decided I liked this style better, though - and I chickened out on getting a funky color. They DO take some getting used to, though. I ran errands in them today, and by the end of the day, they were feeling fine.

As an EX-manicurist, you could've freshened up that pedicure, LOL!

Love , love, love the syle of your tattoos though. If I didn't have this stinkin' athlete's foot problem I got in my 30's when I practiced tae kwon do,(those stinkin' pre-pubesent brats with their bare feet on those mats, lol), I would totally tattoo my feet. Aw, what the hell, I should anyway.

You should see my bitten down fingernails - you'd have a heart attack! I took the polish off last night, they're 'au natural' now! I usually like to keep them painted, but no time!

I found an old 1940's type face for the tattoos. They were originally supposed to be on the inside of my wrists, but my guy took one look at my freakishly small wrists and said 'no'. I love having them on my feet - it's the only tattoos I can see all the time! Though, I will tell you, it hurt like hell, worse than any other spot (although my sacrum was painful too) I kept thinking 'thank god I didn't pick bigger designs!'
